Statement

河合里奈は社会、自然、幾何学、東洋思想、生物学、禅、踏舞、に興味があります。
近年の彼女の考察から、「精神と身体の仕組みと構造」をテーマに絵画作品やパフォーマンス作品の発表をしておりました。それは「視覚的な領域」と「非視覚的な領域」の関係性を追求することです。

現代社会では今も目まぐるしく経済は動き世界情勢は刻一刻と進み、知らず知らずのうちに人々の生活や精神をも脅かし変化しております。社会に存在する無数のレイヤーは、見えているようで見えていない虚構であり顕著に視覚化する事は到底不可能なのです。
そして個人の意思表明を試みる人間は肉体と精神の狭間でもがくのです。それはとても曖昧な内的な精神空間と外的社会構造が立ちはだかりますが、それは人間に限った事ではなく動物も同じく時に憑依を見せ変容するのです。
今後の制作活動では、絵画や身体表現のメディアを通し、自己の世界（精神と肉体）と物質世界（モノと社会）に垣間見えるものを観客が体現することを目指しております。日本踏舞の思想『脱力』や自分以外の何か『水の身体』や日本思想に基づく白塗りの個性を消す思想を引用しテーマに身体性を踏まえ、現代社会での個人の役割の必要性や理想的な労働を模索していきます。主に舞台美術でパフォーマンス作品、ダンス、音楽などの他分野領域と連携する手法で、観客が体感し共に体現できることです。
精神は私たちを纏う身体から離脱する事はできない因果関係で結ばれており、その関係は残酷であると同時に悦ばしい事だと考えます。

Rina Kawai is the artist who works primarily in painting and is also active in performance and sculpture. She is interested in society, nature, geometry, oriental thought, biology, Zen, and Butoh dance.
Based on her recent reflections, She has been exhibiting paintings and performance works on the theme of “Structure of the Mind and Body". It is her pursuit of the relationship between the "visual realm" and the "non-visual realm.

In today's society, the economy is still moving at a dizzying speed, and the world situation is changing in the sands of time unintentionally threatening people's lives and spirits. The myriad layers that exist in society are fictions that seem to be visible but are not, and it is impossible to visualize them clearly.And people who try to express their personal will struggle between the physical and the spiritual. It is a very ambiguous internal mental space and external social structure that stands in the way, but this is not limited to humans society but animals are sometimes transformed as if possessed as well.

In her future production activities, She aims to embody for the audience glimpses of the world of the self (spirit/body) and the material world (objects/society) through painting and other media of physical expression.
She will explore the necessity of the role of the individual and ideal labor in contemporary society based on the physicality of the theme, citing the ideas of "dereliction" and "body of water,"something other than oneself, and the idea of erasing the individuality of white mask that is based on Japanese thought.
The main purpose of this project is to allow the audience to experience and embody together with other fields such as performance works, dance, and music, mainly in the form of stage art.
She believe that the psyche is inseparably linked to the body that surrounds them in a causal relationship that is at once cruel and delightful.
